Founded in the late 1990s by husband and wife José Kuri and Mónica Manzutto along with artist Gabriel Orozco, this San Miguel Chapultepec gallery celebrates both the great and up-and-coming artists of Mexico while exploring Mexican art and culture as a whole. Such artists as Daniel Guzmán, Sofía Táboas, Gabriel Kuri, and Dr. Lakra, to name just a few, are represented here. The gallery space, once a lumberyard and then an industrial bakery, was designed by Alberto Kalach  with an airy, plant-focused beauty inspired by Luis Barragán and Japanese carpentry—a welcome aesthetic break from all the White Cube galleries.
