Located in Culver City’s bustling Hayden Tract, Destroyer is chef-owner Jordan Kahn’s second solo act (his first was Red Medicine, in Beverly Hills). The minimalist Space Age interior sets a subdued mood for the pared-back neo-Scandinavian dishes on the breakfast and lunch menus, which are electronically projected onto one of the walls (all white, of course). Kahn’s raw oatmeal with almond milk, red currant, and vanilla has become a staple among the morning crowd, while the poached hen egg (garnished with house-made potato chips) and avocado confit on toasted country bread are the most talked-about in the light-lunch category.
