Look no further for daytime fare than Lalo!, in the city’s hip Roma Norte neighborhood. Helmed by Máximo Bistrot’s Eduardo García, the vibe here is casual and conducive to friendly conversation, with one long communal wooden table running down the center of the dining area, under a zany mural by Belgian graffiti artist David Derop. A continental menu of breakfast staples like eggs, French toast, and granola with yogurt, along with spins on Mexican favorites like chilaquiles, ensures there’s something for everyone. Save room for something sweet, though: trays of baked goods (we recommend the guava scone) are usually carried around from table to table.
